After some months of inactivity, I'm back with my 50th project! It's been quite the journey, and fittingly, I'm doing another procedural cop drama after working on Abunai Deka two years ago. This time, I'm bringing you the first installment of the Ishihara Promotions Daitokai series for Nippon TV, featuring the iconic duo Tetsuya Watari & Yujiro Ishihara! This series helped shape an entire era of Japanese crime dramas, becoming one of Japan's biggest procedurals of the 1970s, eventually expanding into two additional seasons and even paving the way for the hugely popular Seibu Keisatsu for TV Asahi, also produced by Ishihara Promotions and featuring many of the same stars.

Part I of Daitokai stands apart from its successors with a more grounded, methodical tone. Instead of the explosive action, car chases, and high-intensity spectacle that defined Parts II and III (and later Seibu Keisatsu), this first entry focuses on steady investigative work, the dynamic between the police and the press, and a layer of social commentary. The main series writer, So Kuramoto, aimed to keep the storytelling serious and suspenseful, blending procedural work with subtle glimpses of human emotion. Episodes often highlight the police's organizational structure and investigative methods, and the series sometimes shifts attention to supporting characters, journalists, colleagues, and guest-focused stories, rather than relying solely on the leads. As a result, it functions extremely well as a self-contained series.

Daitokai ran for only 31 episodes, far more manageable to sub than the 100+ episode behemoth these usually ran for. Feels good letting people get a taste of one of these 70s cop shows, which are incredibly underserved and basically never get subbed in English.

The RAWs I used to make the subs are based on a WEB-DL. As usual with these projects, this was subbed by ear, so please excuse any errors and some omitted incidental lines, mostly relegated to the mahjong chatter during the scenes at the Toyo Press Club.

Thanks to everyone who's checked out my subs over the years. I hope I've managed to bring even a bit of joy into your lives. Enjoy all 31 episodes!

Well, that was quick, Toei! Following up on my previous Sukeban Deka II HD release, here are my English subs for Sukeban Deka III, synced to the new HD remaster from the Toei Channel (thanks again to BunnyHat for the encodes). Given that this isn't a full scrub project like my Sukeban Deka II HD release was, you're mostly getting the same subs as before, now retimed and slapped onto this newer video source. I won't go over the HD transfer itself, instead, I'd like to talk about a few new changes in the subs.

First off, I'm making use of the .ass subtitle format. What this means is: styling, fade in/out effects, multiple fonts, text positioning, some use of vector shapes for typesetting, etc. Basically, I want SDIII HD to sit nicely alongside my SDII HD scrub, which used all these features. Translation-wise, I'm still pretty happy with my original work, but I'd be lying if I said that there weren't some lines that could use another look-over. Those will get ironed out (along with any lingering grammar issues). A few of the insert and ending songs are also getting retranslated.

Here's the biggest localization change: I'm switching to Japanese name order and keeping general-use honorifics (-san, -chan, -kun, -sama, -sensei, -senpai). This might seem odd coming from me since it's not usually my approach, but it's about consistency with the previous Sukeban Deka fansubs. To give some background, Sukeban Deka I & II were originally subbed by two separate groups, while I handled III myself. Both retained honorifics and Japanese name order in their translations. When I first put together the subs for III, I went with my usual localization approach, omitting them and using Western name order. But honestly, it never sat right with me that my subs were the outlier here. So, to keep this release in harmony with what came before (and with my SDII HD scrub), I'm following their lead.

As for the release schedule, I'm not making any promises. Back when I started SDII HD, I optimistically aimed for weekly releases, but let's just say that real life got in the way of that, and I'll also have to wait for the RAWs to go up first. So I'll just say these will come out whenever I can manage it. What I can promise is that as long as I'm alive, this will get finished. That's all from me, enjoy!

Back in 2022, Toei Channel started airing an HD remaster of the original Sukeban Deka. And now, starting on June, Sukeban Deka II is finally getting the same treatment. RAWs of the first few episodes have popped up in the usual places, so I'm releasing a resynced version of my scrub project, which I originally did synced to the R2 DVDs. Like the remaster of the first series, this one looks fantastic, with lots of gorgeous grain preserved. It's a real treat to watch. Shooting on film just hits different.

I've been hoping for years that Toei would get off their butts and finally give this amazing follow-up the HD treatment, just so I could sync these subs properly, and that day has finally come! If you skipped my earlier release and are jumping straight from the original hardsubs to this, you can expect a major upgrade, both visually and in terms of subtitles. This should be the best way to watch the show in English, at least until it (hopefully) gets an official release someday.

As for the subs, this time around, I've further retranslated even more lines, added some of the ending credits, among other miscellaneous edits, to give it that final touch. But the main thing was syncing everything to the new HD RAWs so it all lines up nicely. If you're not familiar with my original project, some time back, I did a fairly in-depth scrub of the Skaro Hunting Society subs. Since their version was originally released as hardsubs, I first transcribed everything into softsubs, then went through each episode line by line, editing and retranslating anything that didn't seem right. Some episodes had pretty noticeable accuracy issues, probably due to the original translation being done by ear back in the 2010s. I'm sure it didn't help that Saki speaks in a thick Tosa dialect either. Thankfully, the show's Japanese dialogue was fully transcribed by fans, thanks to 暗黑热血 on Bilibili for uploading it, which made it easier to ensure translation accuracy.

The release schedule will depend on a few things, mainly whether good RAWs are available and easy to grab. If everything works out, I'm aiming to put out episodes weekly as they air, so keep checking that MEGA folder, linked above. Once the whole show's done, I'll try to look into getting someone to upload the whole thing to Nyaa.

Enjoy!

Guess who's back with another fully subbed '80s Daiei drama? Yep, it's me. I've had this one on my radar for quite a while, it definitely feels like a sister show to Furyou Shoujo to Yobarete. Not just because several cast members return in new roles, including the lead Kazue Ito, but even the Sagami Aiiku detention school from Furyou Shoujo shows up again. Plus, Akira Nagoya reprises his role as Director Tamba for the first episode, which technically puts this in the same universe? :O Meiko Kaji also makes an appearance which is always great.

The opening track, 'Never Say Good-Bye' by Kahoru Kohiruimaki, whom many would recognize for singing the themes for City Hunter, is an absolute banger and one of the rare 80s Daiei drama opening themes that isn't a Japanese cover of a Western hit. As usual with these Daiei dramas, expect a killer '80s soundtrack, bombastic melodrama and plenty of delinquent hijinks throughout, just the way I like it!
As with all these projects, this was subbed by ear, so please excuse any errors/minor omitted lines. Big shoutout to Farfromsleep once again for procuring the original DVD box set, so I didn't have to rely on the very poor quality RAWs hanging around online that are bizarrely missing the kickass opening. Enjoy all 24 episodes!

NOTE: Because of D-Addicts' rules, I'm unable to upload my sub files there for this project, since another subber is already working on this same show. Even though they haven't finished, the site doesn't allow multiple people to sub the same drama unless one of them gets officially dropped. And just to clarify, this project is completely my own work from episode 1 to 24. Either way, like all my projects, there's multiple options available to download my version, so it's not a big deal. Thanks for understanding!

I'm back with something modern. The last time I subbed a drama this new was back when I did "Fence" in 2023. It's nice to work on something contemporary again. Usually, the few modern dramas that catch my eye get picked up quickly by other fansubbers before I can even get to them, so nowadays I tend to stick to old school stuff, but this time, I managed to snag this short, 3-episode drama starring one of my biases, Marika Ito that aired in late 2023 that still hadn't been subbed by anyone. Subs are synced to the U-NEXT RAWs found on various places including Nyaa/AvistaZ/Drama-Otaku, etc. I'll be seeding the RAWs on Nyaa through my seedbox for a while so you can grab them from there. Enjoy!

Synopsis:
Easily bored, but still innocent and naive countryside girl (Mako Midori) discovers partying in Tokyo is a ton of fun. Yakuza-to-be (Ichiro Araki) is an acquaintance who tries to rape her, and the typically bland but very-good-here (Hayato Tani) the first boyfriend. Director Yasuo Furuhata (his first picture) lets his camera roll in trendy clubs amongst partying youngsters in a way that could've been out of 60s England or a Nikkatsu film. The film was inspired by an article in Life magazine (Volume 57, 1964) titled The Young Rebellion.

So, this is a pretty interesting release from me, and one that's definitely outside my usual wheelhouse. I've never subbed anything from the 1960s before, or worked on a black and white film for that matter. It also tackles much darker themes than what I usually do. I'll admit I'm no connoisseur of new wave cinema, though I've seen bits and pieces here and there. What drew me to this film in particular was my general interest in delinquent media, and the fact that it marks the directorial debut of Yasuo Furuhata. He's become one of my favorite Japanese directors, mainly thanks to his collaborations with the legendary Ken Takakura throughout the '70s, '80s and beyond (Railroad Man, Winter's Flower, Buddies, Choji Snack Bar) which I'm a big fan of. I hope to one day do a Takakura movie myself, but we'll see. So it feels genuinely rewarding to help bring this early piece of Furuhata's career to English speaking audiences.

Thankfully, Japanese captions were made available via the now-defunct JPTVclub tracker, which made tackling the translation a lot more feasible. The audio quality can be quite hard to make out at parts, so it saved me a lot of hassle from doing it by ear. Anyone into new wave cinema should find something to appreciate in this one. Enjoy!

At last! Bishoujo Kamen Poitrine, the 11th installment in the Fushigi Comedy Series, is now fully available with English subtitles, brought to you by yours truly! This show has seen various subbing attempts over the past decade, but none have been completed in English, until now. I'm proud to finally bring it to the finish line. Despite being a major inspiration for the hugely popular Sailor Moon franchise, Poitrine, arguably the most popular Fushigi show in Japan, has remained relatively obscure in the West without good options to watch it in English. Well, that changes today! I hope this release will help more people discover it.

Yuko Murakami is a lively high schooler who's living a normal life until the day she meets God at a local shrine and is given incredible powers to transform into a legendary warrior, tasked with defending her town, and the universe, from all sorts of bizarre criminals and strange, otherworldly threats.

While I wouldn't really call myself a Tokusatsu fan, I've always been fascinated by the Fushigi Comedy Series' blend of special effects, creative absurdity and surreal humor. The series spans multiple "Bishoujo" magical girl entries, including Paipai, Ipanema, Poitrine, Thutmose, Sing!, and finally Shushutorian. Each dripping with their own brand of eccentricity.

After completing Paipai some months back which only had 26 episodes, I wrestled with whether to continue subbing more Fushigi, specifically Ipanema as it is considered a quasi-sequel to Paipai. But without Ozawa at the helm anymore, it just didn't click with me in the same way. I also know that many of the Fushigi series have over 50 episodes, and as a solo subber, it was never realistic for me to take on most of them. I knew I'd likely only do one more, so I really had to think carefully about which show would be the best fit for me. Shushutorian was a practical consideration for a while, given its shorter episode count, but in the end, Poitrine's undeniable influence on Sailor Moon's legacy made the decision for me.

Now, onto the subs. Episodes 1-2 were primarily based on the official "Toei Tokusatsu World Official" subs from YouTube, with some edits here and there. Episodes 3-27 were extensively reworked/retranslated/retimed from a rough fansub, similarly to how I explained it on my Paipai release. They're basically all brand-new subs now, I only used them as a framework to build upon. Finally, given that the fansubber only got to episode 27 as of the time I started this project, episodes 28-52 were all done by me from scratch. Same goes for the series promo, and the OP/ED lyrics.

Anyone is free to reupload this anywhere on my behalf. Credit to Bunny Hat for the RAWs. As always with these projects, please excuse any flubs as this was done by ear, and enjoy all 52 episodes of Poitrine! As long as there is love, let's fight on!

As has become a habit, I'm here to bring you another classic Daiei TV drama, fully subbed! This one's quite iconic, "Stewardess Monogatari." This series was a collaboration between Daiei TV and Japan Airlines (JAL), both of which were prominently featured in the previous Daiei dramas such as the Akai series with scenes set in JAL airports and airplanes.

Originally a novel, "Stewardess Monogatari" being adapted for television by Daiei, brought along its unique quirks to the screen. Expect melodrama, exaggerated dialogue, and shocking plot twists, with the story diverging significantly from the original work. Yasuzo Masumura, known for this distinctive style, directed and wrote the majority of the episodes, so you can expect his mark on the series.

The show's theme song is a Japanese cover of Irene Cara's classic "What a Feeling," performed by Miki Asakura, and it's still quite a banger! Beyond that, you can expect some familiar faces from other Daiei dramas in this one. Thanks to JPTVclub for the source of the RAWs. As with all these projects, this was subbed by ear, so please excuse any errors whenever the audio was hard to make out, or when characters spoke in dialects, or in episode 13, which dealt with mnemonics that do not translate directly. It's a new year and a new project featuring my favorite Showa Idol, Momoe Yamaguchi (as if my profile picture didn't give it away 🤭), English subtitles for Akai Shougeki! As I hinted in my previous release post for Akai Shisen, I wanted to tackle another full-fledged Akai entry, and I decided to go with this one.

This is the third "Akai" project I've worked on, and the fourth in the series overall. With 29 episodes, it's the longest I've subbed of these to date, and my biggest fansub project behind Abunai Deka. Notably, it's also the first in the series where Momoe Yamaguchi takes the lead role after Ken Utsui stepped down following his starring roles in the previous three "Akai" installments. Although he still has a role in this one. Moreover, the series features episodes directed by Japanese cinema giants Yasuzo Masumura and Yasuo Furuhata.

As a reminder, the "Akai" series is an anthology, each story stands on its own, so no need to watch any of the others to understand this one. If you've been drawn to the intense melodrama and plot twists of the Daiei dramas I've subbed before, you're in for another treat with this series. Thanks to JPTVclub/Hanaurimusume for the RAWs. In line with all of these projects, this was subbed by ear, so apologies for any slip-ups and omitted incidental lines. Enjoy all 29 episodes!

I'm thrilled to introduce my latest project: English subs for all 26 episodes of Mahou Shoujo Chuuka na Paipai! This is my first proper foray into Tokusatsu fansubbing. Unlike typical Toei Tokusatsu, the "Fushigi Comedy Series" stands out with its quirky humor and mysterious charm. No high-stakes or looming villains here, just pure, whimsical fun.

I've always had a soft spot for the magical girl entries, and Paipai seemed like the perfect one to tackle. It's the first of these and already had a subtitle base to build on. Plus, with only 26 episodes, it made it more manageable for a one-man subbing operation such as myself. Featuring Natsuki Ozawa, whom I was a fan of from Hana no Asuka-gumi, was the cherry on top.

Regarding the show's translation history, as I alluded to earlier, there were some existing subs for Paipai. Toei officially subbed the first two episodes on YouTube for their Toei Tokusatsu World Official channel, and they were not bad. Sadly, the rest only got a fansub with tons of problems. It was plagued by poor grammar, awkward formatting, inaccurate translations, inconsistent terminology, and many missing lines. For transparency, I used these sources as a base but retranslated, reformatted, and corrected everything, essentially making this a brand-new release brought up to par.

I also want to note that I personally bought and encoded both DVD volumes to pair with this release, as I wasn't satisfied just making subs for the WEBDL RAWs already circulating online since their image quality is quite subpar.

I hope you all enjoy this delightful and quirky show. It was nice to give one of these Fushigi installments some proper subbing love, after been neglected for far too long. Anyone reading this is free to upload this project anywhere on my behalf.

Now, sit back, and enjoy some Paipai. Urana Shaiopara Taiopara Kasaitabo!

I initially had two goals for this release: a better encode from the DVDs, which I bought myself, and converting TSHS hardsubs to softsubs. Luckily, there were some rough softsubs of the show based on their work that I used as a base to improve further with this new encode.

What began as a light scrub of the script evolved into a much larger project. Initially, I didn't plan to change much, just a few lines here and there. However, after reviewing the TSHS hardsubs, I concluded that the script would benefit from a more thorough translation check and revision. A great amount of editing went into this release, with each episode being checked to ensure translation accuracy. Many episodes were basically retranslated and verified against a Japanese transcription I found online.

Out of respect for their original hard work, I tried to emulate most of TSHS's styling as closely as possible. Naturally, I also kept their credit in the subs. I did change some terminology due to personal preference, but nothing major. I didn't carry over the staff translations and translator notes. But the dialogue, on-screen text, and most of the insert/ed song translations are in. Also, for the first time, I translated the trailer.

Anyone is welcome to reupload these files to nyaa or wherever. I can't do it myself because they have long since closed registration for new accounts. Big thanks to 暗黑热血 over at bilibili for providing a full transcription of the Japanese dialogue for a majority of the episodes. And many thanks again to The Skaro Hunting Society for providing the foundation for this project. Enjoy!

PS: Toei, PLEASE, we need a remaster of this show ASAP so I can have these subs synced with a beautiful high-definition version!

I'm proud to present my 6th Daiei fansub project and my 40th fansub project overall. English subtitles for Furyou Shoujo to Yobarete. This pioneering show shaped many of my all-time favorite media pieces, paving the way for shows like Toei's Sukeban Deka and Shoujo Commando Izumi, Union Film's Sailor Fuku Hangyaku Doumei, among others. It also served as a catalyst for other Daiei-produced dramas that tackled delinquency, such as Janus no Kagami and Professional Golfer Reiko. This show essentially crafted much of the cinematic language for delinquent shows on Japanese TV in the 80s. It has some of the edge of the 70s Toei's sub-genre Pinky Violence films, but without the sleaziness and erotic content that tends to be a turn off for me personally.

It also has a connection to real life, as it was inspired by the autobiography of Shoko Hara, a Bugaku dancer who the show's lead character is based on. Of course, being a Daiei drama, certain elements of her life were exaggerated and fictionalized. If you've seen any of the Daiei dramas I've subbed, you'll know what to expect. For me, I just love these kinds of melodramatic shows and I'm glad to make another one more accessible.

As usual with these projects, I only had access to the audio for the translation, so please excuse any slip-ups and omitted lines. Big thanks to @farfromsleep for purchasing and sharing the DVD files, making this project possible. I've had it as a goal to hit 40 projects for a while, and I'm happy I managed to reach that goal with quite a special one and yet another Daiei drama. I'm proud to have been able to complete six shows produced by them, given that all of the other Showa era Daiei fansub projects are still incomplete as of this writing. You may consider this my final large scaled fansubbing project for the foreseeable future. Anyway, enjoy all 24 episodes!

This is quite a special project. My first ever (and likely only) period piece fansub. I stumbled across this show randomly and was surprised to see that the legendary Meiko Kaji starred in a TV "Jidaigeki" back in her golden age of starring in many of her all time greats, yet the show remained fairly obscure. It never even got a home release. However, finding RAWs of the show proved basically impossible, until I got lucky and a mutual connected me with the person behind the awesome social media account "Fuck Yeah! Meiko Kaji" who happened to have RAWs of the show recorded from TV and was willing to share them, so big shoutouts to them.

As usual with these projects, I only had access to the audio for the translation, so please excuse any slip-ups and omitted lines. This was quite a tricky project for me as the audio quality was poor, and the fact that it's a period piece with antique concepts, terminology and speech only added to the complexity, so apologies in advance, but I tried my best. Anyway, enjoy all 9 episodes!

I'm shaking things up a bit not with a new fansub, but with a new encode of Shoujo Commando IZUMI, straight from the original DVDs. The previous fansub by Big Nova Subs used a WEB-DL source, which meant it was more compressed that what you'd get out of a proper DVDRip. This release should offer a noticeable bump in image quality, so for any fans of IZUMI that want the absolute best looking version of the show you can find anywhere online (barring a proper HD Remaster), here you go. I've retimed and muxed in Big Nova's subs into the mkv files, so big shout-out to them and their great work. A big thank you to NUREN² for graciously sharing the original DVD files with me, making this encoding project possible.

Note: Anyone is welcome to reupload these files to any tracker of their choice. I'm unable to upload this or any of my projects to nyaa as they've long since closed new account registrations. Alongside Mega and Archive, there should also be a version up on Avistaz if you have an account there. Anyways, enjoy!

That's right, this marks yet another Daiei English Fansub project from me. My 5th overall from the company. I guess you could say that I'm a fan, hehe. I found out about the show when I stumbled across the banging OP song "Talk to Me" by Naomi Matsui, a cover of a Quarterflash song, and realizing it belonged to a Daiei drama made me dig for it. I was then drawn by the interesting premise that tackles school institutions, delinquency, and family drama, which are all up my alley. It even has some parallels with Sukeban shows like Rebel Alliance, but with a bit of a twist (Mio Ezaki from RA did direct some episodes, and one of the regulars in this show was also in RA's first two episodes). So, for those who enjoyed those shows, I think you'll get something out of this one.

This was a more low-profile Daiei drama that wasn't as popular and didn't air as many episodes as some of the others from Daiei. (It didn't even receive a DVD release in Japan so this project is sourced from a recent TV rerun). So, I suspect it would have likely stayed unsubbed forever due to its relative obscurity. And TBH, even the most popular Daiei TV dramas in Japan are already extremely obscure in the West, another motivator for me to pick up these shows. But it turned out to be one of my favorite Daiei dramas overall!

As usual for these projects, there was only the audio to work with, so apologies for any slip-ups or omitted incidental lines. Enjoy all 13 episodes!

I'm back with my 4th Daiei English Fansub project and final installment of the classic 'Akai' series. This one's notable because it's not only the last 'Akai' show of the classic era, but also the swan song for Momoe Yamaguchi in the series before she retired from showbiz. Being a huge fan of Daiei dramas, Momoe, and one of the directors of this TV Special, Yasuzo Masumura, (known for 'Blue Sky Maiden' and 'Lullaby of the Earth'), I was motivated to take on this project. The plot is based on the novel 'Deadline at Dawn' by Cornell Woolrich. As a side note, in due time, I'd like to tackle one more full 'Akai' drama as a project with Momoe, either Giwaku or Shougeki. Hopefully one day, though, no ETA.

Thanks to Leathernun and Zemus for the source of the RAWs. As usual for these projects, there was only the audio to work with, so apologies for any slip-ups or omitted incidental lines. Enjoy!

I present English subs for this rather under-the-radar Yoko Minamino movie from Toei that's been sitting unsubbed for years. The last time I subbed a movie was back in 2022, and I thought it was time for a change of pace from the long TV drama projects I've been doing lately. This isn't gonna be a regular thing, as I'm really more of a TV Drama subbing person, but for now, sit back and enjoy the movie!

I'm thrilled to present another classic, the original Janus no Kagami TV Drama from 1985! This is my third Daiei drama English fansub project, and another complete series batch release as you've come to expect from me, I don't like keeping people waiting a long time for the conclusion. When it comes to fansubs, I usually ride solo, so I'm happy to announce that this is my inaugural collaboration project. A big thank you to menhera for supplying the base English subtitle translation and the show's ISOs, allowing me to create an encode of the show that is superior to what's out there.

Being an avid fan of sukeban media, and Daiei, Janus was on my list of shows of interest to tackle, given its status as one of the more iconic delinquent-themed Daiei dramas. So, when the opportunity for a collaborative project came up, I gladly accepted. Typical of Daiei, and unlike series like Sukeban Deka III that are more fantastical, Janus deals with delinquency in a more grounded manner, while tackling real-life issues such as mental health, trauma and abuse and corporal punishment. There's also a 2019 version, but, well, the less said about it, the better.

As usual for these projects, there was only the audio to work with, so pardon any slip-ups. Enjoy all 18 episodes!

I'm back with another classic, the 1982 TV adaptation of Sailor Suit and Machine Gun. This is Tomoyo Harada's first acting role and perhaps the rarest Jdrama I've worked on thus far, as it's not available on home media due to music licensing woes. You can check out a playlist of the soundtrack here. (I couldn't make out every single track that shows up in the show, but it's 95% of it)

As a big fan of Shinji Somai's 1981 film, I've always been intrigued by this 1982 adaptation for television. However, due to its rarity, it has remained out of my reach. Fortunately, it was rebroadcasted on Japanese TV, and I managed to snag a recording and have encoded and uploaded it to mega, linked above. And now, I'm thrilled to present English subs for the first time.

Just be aware that if you've seen the '81 film, this drama adaptation has a totally different and much more comedic tone than the film. The eventual '06 drama adaptation would tread similar ground tone wise.

As usual for these projects, I only had the audio to work with, so pardon any slip-ups and omitted lines especially when people are talking very fast or the BGM is very loud. Enjoy all 11 episodes!

I'm happy to introduce yet another Daiei project and complete series batch release. This year marks the 50th anniversary of this drama, which makes it the oldest drama I've worked on so far. I've been itching to dive into the classic Akai series featuring legendary actors like Ken Utsui, Momoe Yamaguchi and Yusaku Matsuda for some time now, and there's no better start than the very first installment. This series gained immense popularity in Japan, spanning multiple installments. Beginning here with "Akai Meiro," and 1980's "Akai Shisen" would mark Momoe's final appearance in the series. There were a few other entries in the middle and afterwards without her. This is also Matsuda's only series outing. All of these shows have standalone narratives, with many of the same actors appearing in each of them but playing different roles.

As usual for these projects, I only had the audio to work with, so pardon any slip-ups and omitted lines. Especially when shows of this vintage come with really poor audio quality, but I gave it my best shot. Enjoy all 26 episodes!

This drama is a guilty pleasure of mine and among the first that introduced me to Sukeban Deka, which became one of my favorite pieces of media. Originally hardsubbed by the now defunct DramaCrazy years ago, aggregator sites saved their works from episodes 1-7. I took on the task of transcribing their work into softsubs, while extensively editing and rephrasing lines to sound more natural, fixing grammar and formatting issues. Though I retranslated a decent portion of the dialogue and on-screen text that I didn't find up to snuff, episodes 1-7 still stand on DramaCrazy's foundation, hence I kept their credit for these episodes. The Wayback Machine indicates that DC completed subbing by 2011. Sadly, their work on 8-11 were basically lost to time, leaving the series incomplete for years. I did end up finding episodes 9 and 10 on Dailymotion, but not complete, while I couldn't find a trace of 8 and 11. And thus, I undertook the task of translating these latter episodes from scratch, aiming for consistency throughout so the switch won't feel jarring.

Enjoy all 11 episodes of this silly and campy love letter to Sukeban Deka!

I'm excited to present my first subbed Daiei drama, Aries no Otometachi. As a big fan of Sukeban shows, seeing some of the shared cast members in this drama motivated me to take on this project as my first of these.

As far as I know, given that this is a complete series batch release, this might be the first Showa Daiei drama fully subbed in English, and I'm thrilled to be the one delivering it to you. I've timed these subs with the RAWs available on Dailymotion, found available to download above. Unfortunately, these RAWs don't include the opening credits, but I couldn't find another version, so these will have to do.

If everything works out, I may end up working on more Daei dramas in the future. As usual, this project was earsubbed, so excuse any and all inaccuracies. Enjoy!

2024 UPDATE: I'm thrilled to present a vastly improved encode release, sourced directly from the original DVDs. This version features proper deinterlacing and includes the full episode runtime of 45 minutes and 22 seconds, complete with the opening! A special thanks to NUREN² for providing the extremely rare and expensive out-of-print DVD volumes, which often go for nearly four digits. This preservation effort wouldn't have been possible without NUREN's support. The old links have been replaced with this superior version. Enjoy the definitive edition of this project!

First of all, it's an honor at last to provide English subtitles for this show! After working on Asuka-gumi and Rebel Alliance, I made the choice to dive into the last standing big unsubbed series of the sukeban genre, the much-desired third chapter of Sukeban Deka!

Once again, pardon any inaccuracies as this was done by ear without JP Captions in addition to dealing with the tricky Kyushu dialect present. This is a one-man show, so these subs will be fairly minimalistic in comparison to other groups.

Alongside the subs, I've provided a brand new 10-bit, x264, AAC, higher bitrate encode straight from the original R2 DVDs. Suffice to say, these are quite the upgrade compared to the old avi files. Anyone is welcome to reupload these files to any and all trackers. Enjoy!

I present to you my full series English subs batch for Sailor Fuku Hangyaku Doumei. Yet another fully subbed sukeban show for the books! I've provided two versions of these subs, which will be outlined below. Once again, pardon any inaccuracies as this was done by ear without JP Captions. The audio quality of this one is worse than the other shows I've done by ear, so pardon any flubs I might've made, particularly with the character of Saeki, since he loves slurring his lines. Note*: The Nittele Plus' HDTV broadcast I used for the making of these subs comes with the caveat of having the picture cropped from its original 4:3 aspect ratio to fit a modern 16:9 screen. 2024 V2 UPDATE: A year ago, I started releasing my original subs for Hana no Asuka-gumi, which is now considered v1. This marked my inaugural attempt at fansubbing a show by ear without the recourse of Japanese captions. Naturally, this first endeavor had its rough edges, but it served as a good learning experience. Still, the subs could be better. Fast forward to today, v2 aims to bring these subs more in line with my recent earsubbed releases. They've received a full revision that encompasses a partial re-edit and re-translation, checking for translation and grammar errors, improved wording and new ED song translations.

Furthermore, v2 is now available in muxed MKVs. But these aren't the same video files I used before just muxed in. They are brand new DVDRip encodes made by me from the original DVDs that boast a better bitrate and without the very visible compression artifacts and blockiness that plagued the older "YKJ" encode release.

Anyway, enjoy the definitive version of this fansub project, alongside the show looking better than ever!
